Paul is your experienced guide

I know this area well. I've travelled every road and many of the wonderful winding off-road tracks.

Environment and the outdoors. For the last 20 years I worked in the Department of Conservation, our government's environmental department. Much of that time I was dealing with the scenic and nature reserves on Banks Peninsular.

As part of my conservation duties I lived for 18 months on remote and rugged Raoul Island, the biggest of the Kermadec Islands. This isolated island chain is the most remote conservation area managed by the department. The island are 1000 kilometers northeast of New Zealand, and are home to similar, but significantly different, plant species to the mainland.

For 10 years I worked in Arthurs' Pass national park, one of the oldest and best-loved mountain areas in New Zealand, located in the middle of the South Island, yet just two hours from Christchurch by car.

Then for five years I was worked further along the mountain range that forms the backbone of the South Island, in the Lewis Pass and Hanmer area. There I administered tramping huts tracks and other facilities, all over the north Canterbury area including Banks Peninsular.

As I said, there are not many parts of this wonderful peninsular I haven't seen. And I want to guide you around Akaroa and the outer bays in the luxurious comfort no other local tours offer.
